| Which propellant is used in SheerTan Spray Tanning? |
| |
SheerTan is propelled and dispensed from the can using only compressed air - you will not be breathing chemical propellants or polluting the atmosphere. This means the tanning spray is dispensed with NO skipping or spotting in the application. With the mixed propellants many spray tanning aerosols contain, you will experience skips in coverage when the can is held horizontally or the can is less than half full. Not with SheerTan! A 4.5-ounce can of SheerTan gives you the same coverage as > 5-oz cans of other tanning sprays. Most tanning spray systems include 10% or more propellant by weight, but SheerTan uses only compressed air as a propellant - so you pay only for the spray tanning solution! |

| How does SheerTan tan the skin? |

The active tanning ingredient in SheerTan is Dihydroxyacetone (DHA), which has been approved by the FDA since 1977. DHA is a derivative of sugar cane, and reacts with the proteins in the outer layers of the skin to produce a natural looking, long lasting tan, based on your own individual skin tone. Its use is restricted to external application, which means that it shouldn't be sprayed in or on the mouth, eyes, or nose. You may choose to use protective measures for the eyes, nose and mucous membranes. Erythrulose is a natural sugar that helps work synergistically with DHA to produce more natural, longer-lasting color.
Erythrulose is very expensive but we believe adding it to our formulation is well worth the cost because of the results you receive. Erythrulose reacts slower, beginning its development after 4 days about the time DHA has completed its tanning activity after 2 days. So, when DHA has fully developed, Erythrulose kicks in with its delayed development adding color to your tan that is not achieved by DHA alone. In clinical testing, volunteers were treated with a DHA/Erythrulose solution while others were treated with DHA alone for 20 days. Erythrulose in combination with DHA produced a longer lasting, even tan without streaking.

| Will color residue rub off on my clothes or linens when I use SheerTan? |

No, there is no bronzer in SheerTan. We do not include any artificial dyes or make-up like coatings. If any pigment transfers to your clothes, is from your skin cells sloughing off and should wash out easily. |

| Does SheerTan include a sunscreen? |
| |
No, there is no sunscreen protection included in the spray tan. You will need to protect your skin from sunburn. Always apply a sunscreen having SPF 15 or higher to protect your skin when your plans include being exposed to the sun's harmful UV rays. |

| How long will my tan last? |
| |
A SheerTan perfect tan will last and fade evenly just like a real sun tan, as the upper layers of the skin (the epidermis) are sloughed away naturally. This rate at which this natural process occurs varies from person to person. The more you moisturize, the longer the tanned layers last. |
